Reading Order

I know it’s sometimes a bit difficult to know where to start, so here is my suggested reading order for each of my story universes. Click on a book title to go to the publisher page and learn more about the book. Enjoy!

Distant Horizon Universe

The Distant Horizon Universe is a world where superheros and supervillains once clashed, but the supervillains, known as the Camaraderie of Evil, won the war and created a utopian Community by eradicating superpowers and pretending they don’t exist.

But utopia comes with a price.

What happens to those who have powers?

A genre-blending mix of superpowers, magical artifacts, and rebellions.

Deceived Series

The Deceived series is a prequel series of short stories and novellas to the Distant Horizon series, but stands alone on its own. Young adult dystopian adventure with superpowers.

Distant Horizon Series

The Distant Horizon series contains young adult science fantasy novels set a few years after the events of Deceived. The Glitch series is a spin-off series of novellas and short novels following a character who joins the Camaraderie rather than stay with the rebellion, and leans into horror elements.

Note: The Glitch saga takes place during the same time as Fractured Skies. I recommend reading it either after Distant Horizon or after Fractured Skies.

Wishing Blade Universe

A sprawling secondary world of epic fantasy adventure with plenty of reluctant heroes and detailed, interlocking magic systems.

Legends of Cirena Series

A prequel series about 200 years prior to the Wishing Blade series where each short story or novella follows a different protagonist in a different region, prior to magic being stolen. Each one can be read stand-alone, but if read in order, there is a slowly unfolding plot. As a note, books 7-9 feature characters from previous books.

The Wishing Blade Series

An epic fantasy series of novellas and novels following the last two mages to have magic after magic gets stolen from the kingdom. These should be read in order.

Stone and String Series

Set at the same time as the events of The Wishing Blade series, the Stone and String short stories follows a young word mage of the Cantingen Islands whose sister dies from the Stealing… and gets brought back, much to the fury of the goddess of the dead.

Stand-Alone Wishing Blade Stories

  • A Path of Swords and Feathers
    • Note: This is a stand-alone prequel short story following the adventures of Daernan’s father. I recommend reading this after The Shadow War to avoid spoilers.

Huntress Universe

A young adult cyberpunk, sapphic retelling of fairy tales. Fast paced action with a main character who initially makes some really bad decisions before realizing that maybe she shouldn’t believe everything her corporate president (evil queen) has been telling her.

These books aren’t part of a specific universe, and can be read in any order.
