Family Portraits – My Cousins’ Kids

So I’ve been meaning to get these pictures edited, and I finally have. (And got the CDs sent off to thier respective families). These are pictures of my cousins kids, one on my dad’s side and one on my mom’s side. If you want to see more, they also have Flickr Slideshows of a select few of them.  The first two on Cousin Joe’s pictures have been fully edited. The rest all had basic edits done to them in Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4.0, and I’m really enjoying the way CS6 saves things. Makes it really nice to work with, since it lets you keep working while its saving. 🙂 Still need to work on the Lightroom watermark thing, though it looks like it could be a handy function.

Anyways, thought I’d show these, since I do take portraits to. (But don’t worry, up next we’ll be back to photoillustration). 🙂

Uh… the last one is me being swarmed by the little kids.

Masquerade Photoshoot – Joe and Meg

These pictures are ones I did for Meg and Joe’s photoshoot, of which the theme was “masquerade.” I’d like to thank Meg for providing the dresses she wore during this photoshoot, and Cherise for providing Joe’s hat. I had the masks and created the cloak that Joe wore. (Thanks, Christina, for finding the buttons that give it the masquerade look). The cloak got sewn together about an hour and a half before the shoot, right after making a trip to the nearest antique store/thrift shop. Very handy for photoshoots. Anyways, this was a fun shoot, shot at Culp park and indoors. Unfortunately, the outdoors shoot didn’t come out as sharp, but it had some really neat images, especially since we ended up playing with a “Western meets Eastern” aspect to it. 🙂

Portrait Sci-Fi Photoshoot – Stacia

A SciFi based photoshoot. My main goal was to get pictures that resembled the main character in my young adult novel I’m writing, Distant Horizon. Stacia modeled for me, and luckily we were able to get the vine armband to work. There’s also a sneak peak at one of the Honors College project book covers I’m working on on Flickr. 🙂

Portrait Fantasy Photoshoot – Amanda

As part of my portfolio class and honors project, I’ve begun building up my stock photography to use in illustrations. Here we have Amanda modeling for me on one of the amazingly nice days in January. We headed over to Culp Park to do the photoshoot, after picking up the outfit. (She got the dress, I picked up accessories). I used a 420 EX flash and homemade softbox, and afterwords edited the pictures for a more fantasy type appearance. 🙂
