May has arrived with lots of daffodils at the end of April and some warmer-ish weather. That means it’s time for another Infinitas Publishing Status Report!
As with last month, I’ve highlighted the projects that had changes in blue. 🙂
* * *
Starless Night: (Book 3 of the Distant Horizon series). We’re back in action with Starless Night! Once I finished the first revision pass of the Deceived books, I switched to revising this so I could keep up my “on par” editing word count for Camp NaNo (2500 words per day).
I then set up a May goal of finishing the first round of revisions on Starless Night, roughly 100,000 words on the NaNoWriMo project tracker. This is the first time I’m using their project tracker setup outside of a NaNo event. In this case, I’ll need to edit 3400 words per day to stay on par. We’ll see if I can keep that up or end up just sticking with aiming for the 100k word revision goal.
So far, though, between the last few days of April and the first few days of May, I’m 28,000 words into the 123,000 word manuscript.
Progress! 😀
Changing Tides: (Book 4 of the Distant Horizon series). On hold with a rough draft at 50,000 words.
The Glitch Saga (Distant Horizon spin-off series): Goal is to eventually create a new cover and print edition for the complete collection edition. (On hold).
Galina’s Saga (Deceived) – (Distant Horizon spin-off series): Thanks to completing April’s Camp NaNo project, book 4 and 5 have now had their first revision pass!
#4 – 29,000 words
#5 – 35,000 words
For this round of revisions, my goal was to smooth out scenes that were rough from the drafting phase, choose more specific names for characters, mark which characters need name changes (Such as Selina… whose name sounds too close to Galina), and mark sections that felt too slow or confusing.
My next revision pass with the series will be to make the adjustments I noted in the comment bubbles and add in scenes that still need to be written, before looking over all the unpublished books again for another round of general revisions and handing them off to beta-readers.
That will likely happen sometime after I finish revisions to Starless Night.
In the meantime, I’m still debating whether I like the new cover or want to try something different for the series. Not sure yet. Additionally, the series title may still change.
While I was hoping to release the series in early summer, it’s looking more likely that I’ll either release them late summer, or after Starless Night releases.
Lily’s Story: (Distant Horizon series spin-off/prequel novel) On hold. (Has outline).
Sky Runner: (Multiverse novel). On hold. (Has outline)
The Multiverse Chronicles: On hold. (Needs edits).
Little One: More notes need to be added into the manuscript before starting revisions.
TWB 4: (Book Four of The Wishing Blade series). Needs rough draft written. Needs updated outline. On hold.
Runes and Ravens (Stone and String 3): Needs outlining and revision. On hold.
The Secret in the Shadows: (Prequel novella for The Wishing Blade) On hold.
The Legends of Cirena – Collaborative Adventure Facebook Group: Ro’nor-Zynia cross-over is on hold. Current rough draft needs revisions and then I’ll continue with the story in the group.
The Wind Mage and the Wolf (“Livena (The Wind Mage of Maijev”) & Nuaka (“The Gryphon and the Mountain Bear”) cross-over / A Legends of Cirena short novel) : The Joran short story project is on hold while completing the Starless Night revisions.
The Trial of Bells and Blood (Hahven (The Cursed Halls of Kalecen) & Alia (The Scars of Her Past) cross-over / A Legends of Cirena novella) : I’ve done further revisions for this and gathered more feedback from the writing group I go to via Zoom. My next stage will be a pass through ProWritingAid for edits, and then sending it out to beta-readers.
“MOG”: On hold. (Needs revisions)
Changeling: (Huntress #2) Needs formatting for print. On hold.
Huntress 3: Needs rough draft completed. (Currently at 25,000 words) On hold.
Game Design: Progress slowed down this month. I think we got a few more art pieces polished for the elemental card game, but we haven’t had a chance to work out any more details on the rules.
On the personal RPG side of things, Isaac had fun developing a character creation quiz for a dystopian/post-apocalyptic world he created. I’d really like to write a story in that world, but I also know I’ve got several other projects that need to be completed first.
Future plans in game design involve taking product shots of the updated Phalanx board for The Game Crafter, and possibly preparing a print-and-play version of Battle Decks.
Space Adventure Comic: On hold until both of us have time to sit down at the same time and finalize panels for episode one.
Emberverse (Working Title): Revisions on hold. Needs title. Needs outline for “Season 2.”
Marketing: I still need to set up the weekly book promo highlights for May, but I do have the BookFunnel Promos I’m participating in figured out. So far just a couple paid newsletter promos planned for May. I’d like to set up a couple more for the month, but I think my goal this time around is to start calculating how the previous months did and figure out which promos I want to continue testing, and which are going to be cut entirely.
Future goals: Revise Amazon Ads in general (though I’ve mostly been trimming them back rather than creating anything new), check book categories and keywords for the different series (I did update the categories for the Legends of Cirena series on Amazon), and calculate how book promos are doing/update the business ledger for book royalties.
LitRPG / GameLit Story: On hold. (Needs revisions and restructuring).
Other Stories: YA SciFi Alien Invasion/Dystopian Conspiracy short story revisions on hold.
SBibb’s Photographic Illustration: I still need to update the imagery on this blog and the Infinitas Publishing website banner.
Daz PA: My SBibb Diverse World Morphs for 200 Plus for Genesis 8 Male set has released!
This one has a variety of 25 head morphs that uses the 200 Plus Head and Face Morphs for Genesis 8 Male(s) product by Dogz and Zev0. (That morph set was one of the first products I picked up, and has been extremely useful for character creation. I highly recommend it).
Anyway, the Diverse World head morph set is one that I started creating when applying to become a PA at Daz. I got sidetracked working on other products, so I only just now finished and released it.
I’m now working on a Diverse World companion set for Genesis 8 females as a side project, and plan to submit that once it’s complete.
Meanwhile, I’ve continued working on a pose set that required modeling props for it. I finally figured out how to fix the UV maps, and so that project is moving along nicely. The main props are finished, with a couple smaller pieces to make, but the most complex piece is done. Next step will be making the poses to go along with it.
Also… I’m excited to announce that I participated in an interview with Daz for their recent Michael and Victoria inclusion bundles, and I discussed my process in working on the hearing aids pose set. 😀
