February passed quickly (short month… kind of threw me for a loop, how fast it went), and now we’re in March. Time for the monthly Infinitas Publishing Status Report!
I’ve highlighted the projects that had changes in blue. 🙂
* * *
Starless Night: (Book 3 of the Distant Horizon series). On hold. Need to input notes from proofreading so I can format the print edition.
Changing Tides: (Book 4 of the Distant Horizon series). On hold while working on Deceived 2.
The Glitch Saga (Distant Horizon spin-off series): Goal is to eventually create a new cover and print edition for the complete collection edition. (On hold).
Galina’s Saga (Deceived) – (Distant Horizon spin-off series): I had almost finished a round of revisions at 67,000 words, and then realized there were two story arcs present. At that point I determined the story needed to be split. I did some examination of the plot and found the splitting point.
Now it’s a much more feasible length (39,000 words) compared to the rest of the series (and there’s now an extra book in the series).
I went back though the new version of Deceived 2 and finished that revision round (yay!).
I plan to do one more read through to look for pacing issues, and then I’ll run it through ProWritingAid. After that, I’ll either hand it back to Isaac for his edits, or send it out to beta-readers. 😀
Future Goals: Add Isaac’s notes from Deceived #5 (formerly #4) into the manuscript, revise Deceived #5, and revise #6 (formerly #5) before handing it to Isaac for his feedback. Additionally, I still need to finish updating the book cover and decide on a series title.
Lily’s Story: (Distant Horizon series spin-off/prequel novel) On hold. (Has outline).
Sky Runner: (Multiverse novel). On hold. (Has outline)
The Multiverse Chronicles: On hold. (Needs edits).
Little One: On hold. (Needs revisions).
TWB 4: (Book Four of The Wishing Blade series). Needs rough draft written. Needs updated outline. On hold.
Runes and Ravens (Stone and String 3): Needs outlining and revision. On hold.
The Secret in the Shadows: (Prequel novella for The Wishing Blade) On hold.
The Legends of Cirena – Collaborative Adventure Facebook Group: On hiatus.
The Dark Forest of Aneth (“Ro’nor (“The Restless Sands of Neel”) & Zynia (“The Dragons of the Mist”) cross-over / A Legends of Cirena short novel): On hold.
Goals: Rough draft needs completed via the Collaborative Adventure Facebook group, and there are a couple scenes I’d like to add earlier in the story. I already have a book cover concept, which still needs to be completed.
The Wind Mage and the Wolf (“Livena (The Wind Mage of Maijev”) & Nuaka (“The Gryphon and the Mountain Bear”) cross-over / A Legends of Cirena short novel) : The Joran short story project is on hold.
Legends of Cirena Epic: Outlining phase on hold. Currently creating the map of Litkanston. I now have two versions I’m working on. One is being shaded in Photoshop, using the pencil sketch as the base. The other is being inked with fine liner makers.
WIP Shaded Version:
Inked Version:
I still need to finish shading odds and ends details, but I’m fairly close to completion on the shaded version.
The Cirena epic is intended to be a back-burner project.
“MOG”: On hold. (Needs revisions)
Changeling: (Huntress #2) Print edition on hold. Needs back matter and front matter adjusted.
Huntress 3: Needs rough draft completed. (Currently at 25,000 words) On hold.
Game Design: On hold.
Future plans in game design involve: possibly preparing a print-and-play version of Battle Decks, polishing the elemental game card art and testing mechanics, and looking into options for feasibly producing Phalanx.
Space Adventure Comic: On hold.
Villain Problems: (WIP panels viewable on my Instagram). On hold.
Emberverse (Working Title): Revisions on hold. Needs title. Needs outline for “Season 2.”
Marketing: Again, no paid ads (aside from a couple Amazon drip ads), though I continued to participate in BookFunnel Promos, which I promoted via my newsletter, this blog, and Twitter. I’ve also tried to be more active about posting at least once a day on Twitter (without getting caught up in the endless cycle of scanning social media). I’ve scheduled this month’s Weekly Promo Highlights, and I’ve scheduled my ebooks to go on sale (a number of them at half price) in Smashwords’ Read an Ebook Week sale in early March.
I’m still looking into testing Draft2Digital for wide print distribution, but haven’t yet formatted a book for that. I still need to do more testing on mailing list automations, and I’d like to create new, more focused reader magnets for my main series.
Other future goals: Revise Amazon ads, link to my pinterest account on the Infinitas Publishing website, overhaul book categories and keywords, and do the usual business ledger upkeep.
LitRPG / GameLit Story: On hold. (Needs revisions and restructuring).
Other Stories: The YA SciFi Alien Invasion/Dystopian Conspiracy short story revisions are on hold. Comic script (“If I Had Asked”) on hold, though I have ideas of how to revise it after talking to our local comic creator’s group.
Untitled Fantasy Story: While we didn’t add a whole lot of new plotting to this story, Isaac and I did continue to work on the outline for the second book in the series. The outline currently stands at about 12,200 words, up from the 8,800 words last month.
At this point, it looks like we need to review the first book’s outline, finish fleshing that out, and then determine what still needs to be added to the outline of book two.
This is intended to be a backburner project.
SBibb’s Photographic Illustration: Future Goals: Update the Infinitas Publishing website banner. Figure out a schedule for uploading general art projects.
Daz PA: I’ve finished working on a magic-themed pose/prop effect set, though it was on hold due to technical issues for a while. All that remains now is a quick how-to PDF and setting it up for submission. I’ve also almost finished a surprise/fear-themed pose set. I’m still working on the promos, and then I’ll need to prepare that for submission, too.
Next I’m planning to try an illuminated geoshell makeup set.
